When Carter took office the national debt was $ 660 billion. When George W Bush left office the debt stood at $9.9 trillion. If you remove Carter's $337 billion increase, and remove Clinton's $1.5 trillion increase, you are left with $ 8 trillion in deficit spending under Republican administrations. Way to go Republicans! So much for fiscal conservativeness. I am not thrilled about Obama's stimulus package but then again I don't have an army of financial advisors telling me what to do. Neither do you. So if you think you can run the country better, get off your rump and apply for the job. Otherwise cross your fingers pray this stimulus works. Because if it doesn't we will all be working for the Asians the Republicans sold us out to. And pray they treat us better than we have treated them!
